Unit 1 Reflection

In my Curated Source Collection, I feel that the quality of my sources is very well-founded and reliable. I have chosen my sources from The New York Times and TEDX Talks, which are highly ranked and reputable. The sources are also qualified for the topic of writing and technology because they represent how technology can be used in the future for learning and research. In the article, “A Pencil Shop, for Texting the Old-Fashioned Way," from the New York Times by Molly Young, I understand the pencil as a form of technology. While the modern-day representation of technology is any object with electricity, like computers, cell phones, projectors, and cars, pencils are a form of technology as well: the ability to take a person’s ideas and put them into a page. The article focuses on the different types of pencils and their uniqueness. In the article, “The ‘functional’ part of his reply is especially apt. Because pencils have a credible use, this single-minded store is able to transce...

Surveys/Polls/Quizzes

Survey Link:   https://www.buzzfeed.com/daniellaflores/whats-your-2025-aesthetic      The survey that I took was about what your aesthetic is for 2025. During this survey, the quiz asks a variety of questions: what do you do on a typical night out, what is your ideal vacation, what is your power outfit, what is your favorite hobby, etc. To get the results of the quiz, I posted it on social media for my friends to respond to. When I took the quiz, I got “little miss ‘holding onto my last shred of sanity.’” When my friends took the quiz, the other results were “evolved villainess”, “main character energy,” and “little miss ‘holding onto my last shred of sanity.’”       What is interesting about these results is that all of my friends got different responses and said that the quiz was very restrictive. Questions did not have enough depth or options to measure what my 2025 aesthetic is accurately. When I asked my friend if they believed the surv...

Pictures reflect a moment in time and show a glimpse of the feelings. I chose to do what I eat because food was always an adventurous experience in my family. Ever since I was young, my parents would take me to as many restaurants as they could and expose me to many types of different cuisines. With this, my love of food sparked as well as my love for cooking. I especially like to try new recipes and make things from scratch. When I take photos of my food, it is a tribute to enjoying the food or the time and labor it took to make. My cooking reflects on ...
