Unit 2 Reflection

I chose students as the audience for this piece because they are the ones most directly affected by the shift toward AI tutoring in education. Whether a student’s learning experience is helped or hurt, this tool is used all around them. To better reach this audience, I made several rhetorical choices to make the piece easy to understand and engaging. First, I used clear, relatable language and examples from real student experiences. For example, from response #, “quote” This kind of phrasing helps students picture how it could directly impact their lives and how it has directly impacted another students life. I also included bold quotes and eye-catching visuals throughout the piece to keep students engaged. Since students often skim through articles, I used larger fonts and pull important words and quotes like, “quote/word” to grab attention and highlight key arguments. These choices were all made to connect with students’ interests, reading habits, and concerns, making the piece not only informative but also fun and accessible.

I am challenging myself in the piece because I think in my learning career, I have usually not depended on AI or Human tutoring. Since I was a kid, I have never had any experience getting outside tutoring then from my teachers. In college this has changed slightly, I have started to collaborate more in classes like recitations and also started to use AI more. In the beginning of using AI, I depended on it for answers and did no outside thinking of my own. Now, I have learned how to bridge the two types of tutoring to maximize learning. I think that the quality of my sources could have been improved. When I was looking for sources, I found it difficult because I felt that the quality of learning from AI and human tutoring is strictly opinion based. It is hard for another person to reflect on how a student learns through different types of tutoring because they have no understanding of the student's thought process. I think for future and further research on my sources, I can look for more reliable sites and potentially research papers or studies. The conversation has changed much from unit one because I am centering my topic on AI instead of broadly talking about our inquiry, writing and technology.

I think that I was successful in engaging my pitch to the audience because I used a collaboration of big words and pictures. This draws attention to each section of the portfolio. And helps students read the information in chunks. The audience for this article is students that are in college in high school. At the end of the project, I did get a response for my pitch. I interviewed a lot of people and my friends. After all the research from multiple websites and researching a lot of my friends, I came to the conclusion that a hybrid of AI tutoring and human tutoring is the best option for all students.

I think a way that I can use this researching method in my other classes or in the real world is to make decision decisions on bigger topics such as politics. Making sure that I am well informed on all sides and opinions is a great way to make the best decisions.
